Cape Fear River Watch conducts a new alligator eco-tour excursion this summer and fall at Greenfield Lake, departing every Wed/Thurs beginning on 8/19 at 10am and Sat. on the hour by reservation from the paddle boathouse area at Greenfield Lake. The Southern Coastal Bluegrass Festival, brought to you by the Thalian
Association, is returning to Kure Beach for the 6th annual celebration of music, dancing and story telling. The music plays on Sat 9/20, from 10am -8pm and Sun 9/21, from 10am -7pm at the Fort Fisher Military Recreation Center. This year’s festival features Tony Williamson Band, The Hagar’s Mountain Boys, The Wells Family, Ted Jones and the Tarheel Boys, The Barnraisers, and more!
